Ring pulls from drink bottles

Collect ring pulls from a drink can and build a limb for an amputee!
Some interesting facts:

• 1 KG of ring-pull tops helps to make 3 limbs
• The ring-pull tops are melted down to make the rod that goes inside the limb to support it.
• The ring-pull tops are also used to make walking aids and frames
• There are 2 types of limbs made: 1 is the farmers leg - helping when climbing mountains etc and the other is the cosmetic leg.
• Dr Therdchai Jivacate designed the legs. They are lighter, more comfortable and 10 times less expensive than the imported ones to make since they are made of recycled plastic and ring-pull tops.
• The Prostheses Foundation has a mobile prosthetic unit which travels to rural remote areas to make artificial legs free of charge for poor and disabled amputees.
• The Foundation has volunteers, doctors and technicians to make artificial legs all year round.

Dharni’s passion for music began at a very young age in 2002 at the age of 15. He introduced beatboxing to Singapore at age 17 by busking on the streets, and it slowly created an awareness after 6 months. He now holds the 5th place in the world's beatbox rankings.
This guy here deserve some respect. I am just too stupid to not take a photo with him ._.

He performed at the YAH birthday bash on saturday. But, what appalled me was the audience. Like hey, this is a beatboxing performance and the audience look as if they were watching an opera ._. Same as to the other dance and music performances. A performer needs enthusiastic response as a feedback to how his performance is. Some performers just need the audience to lend a ear, but they just get too little attention. I liked A Vacant Affair, thought they were great.

People seem to grow uglier by each day. Dreams seem to lose its happily-ever-afters.

I can't wait for school to reopen. Not that I am looking forward to orientation.

I shall start saving up to buy a Holga (: Now I have an excuse to skip lunch ha! Read up quite a lot on lomography and realised it is interesting, so i guess i shall give it a try. Saw one in Inqbox and others on Multiple X choice. HOLGAS

I enjoy my dreams, despite most of it being either erased or nightmares. I always try to continue my dream by sleeping after waking up, but it never did come again:( At some random point of life, i happen to come across a place or meet a person, it kinda felt like Déjà vu. I am pretty sure these memories occurred in my dreams, maybe years ago, just that I cannot recall. Something funny but true; you think hard about something you must dream about tonight. You realise it never happens. Dreams are indispensable. A lack of dream activity can mean protein deficiency or a personality disorder. So, let's just hope that we can weave more dreams shall we (hopefully beautiful ones that would never happen in reality) (:

I remember when I was young, I watched my first English movie in the theatres. Billy Elliot it was. I was 8 then. It was highly inspirational, although at that point of time, I don't even understand why the f word was vulgar.

And I would always remember this quote from Billy when he was asked what does it feel like when he was dancing.

"Don't know. Sorta feels good. Sorta stiff and that, but once I get going... then I like, forget everything. And... sorta disappear. Sorta disappear. Like I feel a change in my whole body. And I've got this fire in my body. I'm just there. Flyin' like a bird. Like electricity. Yeah, like electricity."

I've lost count of the number of times I've watched this film and the number of times I felt like how Billy described in his quote.

Billy:"I don't want a childhood. I want to be a ballet dancer."
